Chariot November 2011 - Norm Wakefield Special 40% Off Sale - This Week Only 2012 Vision and Elijah Ministries Ministry Team Elijah Ministries
Purpose Statement The purpose of The Spirit of Elijah Ministries, International is to build up the local church by equipping men to teach and apply the gospel to life. My vision when I began Elijah Ministries as a pastor was to equip the men to be the spiritual leaders of their families so the church would be strengthened at the core level-the family. Although the ministry is aimed at family relationships, the message isn't family. The message is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Biblically, Elijah Ministries is a pastoral, teaching, equipping ministry as explained in Ephesians 4:11-12. "And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ." Every aspect of our ministry purposes to encourage men to live in a dynamic, consistent, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Such a relationship with Jesus produces men who will not only be leaders, but will be the kind of leaders others are drawn to follow and emulate. Although the ministry focuses on men, the Holy Spirit builds up women, teens, and children also. How would you like to be a part of the Elijah Ministries
ministry team? I need help! As I have prayed about where the Lord is taking the ministry in 2012, a number of factors have encouraged me to think about a new pattern for carrying out this ministry. Up to now, my son Micah and I have done most of the ministry. I have handled speaking, counseling, resource production, and shipping while Micah has taken care of business administration. However, times have changed. Micah is married with children and works full time as an operations manager for a company in San Antonio. He has continued to assist as much as possible on the side, but those responsibilities have called for a change in the amount of time and energy he feels he can put into the ministry. He will continue to help with some various aspects (and I am grateful he continues to be excited to be a part of the ministry), but other parts of the ministry need to be done for which I have no gifting. I
have realized that if I take on those responsibilities, the foundation of
Elijah Ministries suffers. My focus on the Lord and what He wants to give
to the body of Christ through me as a pastor/teacher/evangelist is the
fountain of the ministry. When I'm not seeking the Lord, writing,
studying, and exercising the gifts God has given me, the ministry suffers.
It has come to my mind that God has created this need so others may also
exercise their gifts through Elijah Ministries and experience God's
pleasure and fullness as I have. Could you be one of those who is looking
to invest and use your gifts in a kingdom ministry such as Elijah
Ministries that changes lives for the glory of God? God has given you
gifts for ministry One
of the blessings of being in the body of Christ is experiencing the
ministry of the Holy Spirit through us. The Apostle Paul wrote of the
ministry of the Spirit to the Corinthians and to the Romans. Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good...Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it (1 Cor. 12:4-7, 27).
Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us,
each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the
proportion of his faith; if service, in his serving; or he who teaches, in
his teaching; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who gives, with
liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with
cheerfulness (Rom. 12:6-8).
For Elijah Ministries to continue to be effective, I believe God
wants to put together a ministry team of volunteers who want to be a part
of building up the body of Christ through this ministry. Would you pray
seriously about how God may use you and your gift to be a part of the 2012
Elijah Ministries Team? Here are the gifts that are needed. Do
you have one of these gifts and a desire to exercise it in some small way? Service • Duplication and assembling resources (as needed which varies with the speaking season. This requires someone local to San Antonio). • Shipping (twice a week and requires perhaps a total of an hour a week. This requires someone local to San Antonio). • ePub formatting (Mac and basic desktop publishing skills are necessary). • Website maintenance (html coding knowledge and abilities). • Audio/MP3 editing and production (taking a audio message from its original form to master production quality). • Videography and editing (requires equipment, skills, and time to video and edit a series of messages such as Equipping Men). • Facilitate or organize a speaking engagement for me through a men's retreat, men's breakfast, couples retreat, homeschool support group, or family conference at your church. • Webinar facilitation and consultant. I hope to begin free monthly webinars next year. • Editing (Mac InDesign CS5.5). I have some writing projects that people with gifting in editing may be very helpful. Skills in editing grammar and in book formatting are needed. • Social networking. Forwarding the Chariot of Fire to friends and telling others about The Spirit of Elijah Ministries International Facebook page helps introduce others to the ministry and broadens the scope of the ministry. Prayer • Facebook prayer team. Each time I speak or the ministry has prayer needs, I post it on my personal Facebook page as well as the ministry page. Simply befriend me at The Spirit of Elijah Ministries page and co-labor with me in prayer for the time of ministry. Exhortation, Teaching, Pastoral • Host a small group or teach a Sunday School class using one of the resources from The Spirit of Elijah Ministries. For examples: Take a group of couples through the book Equipped to Love or a small group of men through one or all the Walking Worthy Series studies or Equipping Men DVD Series. • Inform others about Elijah Ministries resources or website (www.spiritofelijah.com). Giving • When you buy resources and give them to friends or family members, you are helping support Elijah Ministries and advancing the scope of the ministry. • Join the financial support team through a one-time gift or regular giving. This can be done by mailing a check, through online contributions (you can do so here), setting up monthly credit card contributions, or gifts of stock. I recognize that you might have a desire to give to the ministry, but are not able to at this time. There are other ways you can use your gifting to help out such as are mentioned above. •
If you are a pastor or elder of your church, perhaps you might
present Elijah Ministries as a possible consideration as one of your
mission outreaches to the body of Christ around the world. I would enjoy
building a relationship with your church to be a regular encouragement.
If as you read about these opportunities to minister and be a part
of Elijah Ministries, God puts an excitement in your heart and a desire to
participate, please contact me via email at info@spiritofelijah.com.
In
most cases, you will have the flexibility to give as little as an hour or
two here or there as you have available or perhaps something more. I'm
excited about what God is going to do through this ministry team and look
forward to hearing from you. Vision
for 2012 • Internationally - A homeschool conference in Australia in January and a purity conference in Brazil with YWAM in July. Would you like to participate in the ministry to Brazil by giving toward this trip? • Equipping Men: Practical Tools for Life's Issues remake and update. The goal is to produce a series which is more conducive to a one hour format for use in small groups or Sunday School classes. The sessions will be shorter and there will be more of them. Would you like to give to this project through your videography skills or God's financial supply to you? • Production and duplication of a new series Becoming Like Christ. This series has been recorded and is in need of editing and production. • Production and duplication of a new series Pursuit of Godly Manhood. This series has been recorded and is in need of editing and production. • Publication of a new book Living to Love: Liberation from Religion and Legalism. This new book is based on the Chariot of Fire series entitled The Curse of the Standard Bearers. Editing and formatting skills will be needed as well as financial support for printing. • Monthly webinars for equipping men. Do you have experience doing webinars and a desire to help facilitate this ministry? Would you help get the word out when the time comes? • Get all of my books into ePub/digital formats to make them available for iPads, Kindles, and Nooks. •
Build the financial support team. Would you pray about sharing with
those you know who are givers and who you think would be blessed by
participating in the ministry through giving? The
fields are ripe
The need is great. People are empty. Men are floundering. The
church is suffering for lack of knowledge and passion for the gospel. We
can make a difference. As I speak around the world, the hunger and thirst
in the souls of people for what God has given through Elijah Ministries is
evident. It makes it a joy and privilege to teach God's Word and minister
the life of Christ in such a time as this. I hope you will pray about
joining the 2012 Elijah Ministries Team. Would you like to be on the Elijah Ministries Prayer Team? You are invited to
join with me in ministering to men and their families in three ways. 1.
Please
pray about contributing to Elijah Ministries through a one time gift or on
a regular monthly basis. In doing so, you join what I call the "sending
team." I am able to dedicate myself to this ministry through the
contributions of brothers and sisters in Christ who want others to receive
what they have received through Elijah Ministries. You
can do so here. (Elijah
Ministries is a tax-deductible 501c3 and is financially accountable to an
overseeing board of 8 non-paid members from around the country.)
2.
Please
pray about joining my Facebook prayer team on The Spirit of Elijah
Ministries Facebook page. I post an invitation to pray and then a report
after the event. You can be a part of ministering the grace of God through
praying for these events. 3.
Please
pray about sharing resources that have encouraged you with your friends. The Chariot is also available as a podcast. You can automatically receive the Chariot each month in iTunes by subscribing here. (An RSS capable browser such as Internet Explorer 7 or Safari is required.)
